Occupy the Senate!
On “NATIONAL BILL OF RIGHTS DAY” Thursday, December 15th at 11:00am we will meet at Civic Center Park and MARCH to Senator Bennett and Udall’s offices to ask them to Co-Sponsor US Senator Bernie Sanders’ new amendment to “Save our Democracy” overturning “Citizens United” which gave corporations human rights, last year.
Here’s Sen. Bernie Sanders’ proposal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=G9qZZVqSQdo#!
We want our Senators to take leadership and not just support but to CO-SPONSOR this very important amendment proposal. We will assemble at 11:00 a.m. and start walking to the Senator’s Offices at 11:30. This will be a very peaceful walk of song with a goal of talking to our U.S. Senator’s Staff.
We also need to call for our fellow occupiers that can not attend to call both of our Senator’s office and ask for their support.
AND by signing this petition: http://sanders.senate.gov/petition/?uid=f1c2660f-54b9-4193-86a4-ec2c39342c6c
This isn’t coincidental, at all, you guys.
Today is the day!
While the House of Representatives discusses America’s first system for censoring the internet, sites everywhere are sending their users to contact Congress to stop this bill.
Click here to write Congress now, and get the code for your site!
Huge sites like Boing Boing, 4chan, Reddit, Mozilla (on the Firefox start page!) are participating, and more are joining fast. If you have a blog, a Tumblr page or a YouTube channel, black out your logo in protest. If you have a website you can also run a splash page asking your visitors to contact Congress.

Keep doing what you’re doing. It’s working!!!

Fight for the Future
P.S. If you haven’t heard already, there’s a new bill in Congress called ‘SOPA’ that could pass *this month*. It would let the US government shut down websites, and jail users for posting harmless copyrighted clips to sites like YouTube or Tumblr. The bill would chill innovation, create huge liability for startups, and would set a terrible global precedent for government censorship of the internet. There’s a video at the link above if you’d like to learn more. After you take action, keep spreading the word!
